Director Claus Guth not only associates his student days with Munich, the native of Frankfurt has also staged operas on several stages here: in addition to several productions at the Gärtnerplatztheater and Prinzregententheater, the Munich Biennale has included  Pnima...Ins Innere  (Chaya Czernowin) or  Berenice  (Johannes Mary Staud) .  He is increasingly interested in contemporary music theater, but also in the works of Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner . In 2007, Claus Guth worked on the new production of Verdi's  Luisa Miller at the Bavarian State Opera . As part of  Yes, May - The New Festival  , he is showing Georg Friedrich Haas' opera  Bluthaus    in combination with Monteverdi's  Lamento della ninfa  and  Ballo delle ingrate  – Claus Guth has already staged a complete cycle with Monteverdi's surviving works for the Theater an der Wien. For the new production in Munich, he is once again working in a team with dramaturg Yvonne Gebauer and set designer Etienne Pluss, with whom he has worked, among other things, on  Salome  by Richard Strauss for the Bolschoi Theater and the world premiere of Beat Furrer's  Violetter Schnee  at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. The musical direction is in the hands of Titus Engel, who works with  Bluthaus by Georg Friedrich Haas makes his debut at the Bavarian State Opera. Born in Zurich, he was named Conductor of the Year in 2020 by the magazine "Opernwelt".
