The opening of the season is going to be festive, appealing to all audiences with this new production of the exhilarating work by Rossini (1792-1868) - one of the most popular in the history of opera. The brilliance with which the Italian composer, then aged twenty-four, adapted Beaumarchais' play is quite extraordinary. The comedy is frenzied and yet structured with a clockmaker's precision and its compelling melodies whip the antics, mischief and tenderness up into a spiral of virtuosity. Everything is designed to irresistibly dazzle the spectators. Stage director Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau is making his début at the OnR with this opera and intends to paint that magnificent bragger, Figaro, with a certain panache and lustre. Figaro will enjoy serving the blasé nobleman, Count Almaviva,as the Count is thrown into turmoil at the sight of beautiful Rosina, stashed away in a dilapidated Seville palace under the sharp surveillance of a cynical old man... Conductor Michele Gamba, at the head of the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra, is making his début at the OnR.

L'ouverture de la saison lyrique va mettre en joie tous les publics grâce à cette nouvelle production de l'œuvre exaltante de Rossini (1792-1868), parmi les plus populaires de l'histoire de l'opéra. Le brio avec lequel le compositeur italien, alors âgé de vingt-quatre ans, a adapté la pièce de théâtre de Beaumarchais est extraordinaire. Comédie à la fois endiablée et construite avec une précision d'horloger, airs irrésistibles qui hissent facétie, malice et tendresse à des sommets de virtuosité, tout est conçu pour que le spectateur soit ébloui. Le metteur en scène Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau, qui fait à cette occasion ses débuts à l'OnR, compte donner panache et éclat au hâbleur magnifique qu'est Figaro, lequel trouve dans la figure du comte Almaviva un héritier blasé qu'il va s'amuser à servir, au moment où celui-ci s'embrase à la vue de la superbe Rosina, recluse dans un palais de Séville décrépi sous la haute surveillance d'un vieillard cynique... Le chef d'orchestre Michele Gamba, à la tête de l'Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse, fait ses débuts à l'OnR.

Die Eröffnung der neuen Spielzeit beginnt festlich und ist für ein breites Publikum gedacht, mit einer neuen Produktion des packenden Werks von Rossini (1792-1868), das zu den populärsten der Operngeschichte gehört. Der vierundzwanzigjährige italienische Komponist komponierte das Theaterstück von Beaumarchais mit außerordentlicher Bravour. Seine Komödie ist von rasender Geschwindigkeit und gleichzeitig von der Präzision eines Uhrwerkes, die unwiderstehlichen Arien führen Spaß, Schalk und Zärtlichkeit zu virtuosen Gipfeln: alles ist ausgelegt, um den Zuschauer zu blenden und zu überwältigen. Der Regisseur Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau, der zu dieser Gelegenheit sein Debüt an der OnR gibt, beabsichtigt, dem unwiderstehlichen Aufschneider Figaro Schneid und Glanz verleihen. Dieser macht sich einen Spaß daraus, dem Grafen Almaviva, einem blasierten Erben, zu dienen, als jener sich beim Anblick der wunderschönen Rosina, die in einem heruntergekommenen Palast in Sevilla von einem zynischen Alten gefangen gehalten wird, leidenschaftlich in sie verliebt... Der Dirigent Michele Gamba, der zum ersten Mal an die OnR kommt, dirigiert das Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse.
