When the 24-year-old Pergolesi presented his intermezzo “Livietta e Tracollo” in Naples in 1734, the audience burst out laughing and could no longer forget his beautiful melodies. Within a very short time, his mini-opera for two singers could be seen all over Europe. The clever farmer's wife is embodied in the styriarte by Laura Orueta, her partner Tracollo, the charlatan, by baritone Dietrich Henschel. ART HOUSE 17 delivers the swinging soundtrack to Adrian Schvarzstein's endless repertoire of comical ideas.
