Quella dell’orchestra Mozart è una realtà giovane ma unica in Europa. La scelta di Abbado, che l’ha fondata nel 2004, di lasciare piena libertà espressiva a ciascun musicista, fidandosi dell’eccezionalità del risultato, ha creato un’armonia che tutti i membri della Mozart raccontano, un’esperienza quasi familiare e un progetto fortemente condiviso da artisti che sono cresciuti insieme. «È un modo di fare musica fresco, giovane, felice e meraviglioso. Un’enorme energia, combinata con grandi competenze, con quel luccichio negli occhi di tutti che rende tutto molto speciale. Ogni volta non vediamo l’ora di tornare a suonare insieme» dice il primo violino Raphael Christ.

«La Mozart è unica perché ogni musicista condivide la stessa felicità e voglia di fare musica insieme, e non sono tante le orchestre che possono dire lo stesso» aggiunge il primo oboe Lucas Macías Navarro. Grazie alla grande partecipazione dei suoi musicisti la Mozart è da sempre caratterizzata da un animo cameristico, si esibisce in formazioni variabili, affrontando un repertorio molto vasto, fino a proporre concerti da camera in duo e trio. È così che ha imparato a conoscerla il pubblico del LAC, in occasione degli appuntamenti ormai annuali per la Stagione di LuganoMusica, con concerti sinfonici e una rassegna da camera organizzata dai musicisti. La Mozart ha inaugurato la Stagione 2021 ed è attesa ogni primavera per il concerto pasquale.

Dopo la scomparsa di Claudio Abbado e l’esperienza con il grande direttore olandese Bernard Haitink, dal 2019 l’Orchestra è guidata da Daniele Gatti, tra i più apprezzati direttori italiani a livello internazionale. Nelle sue parole: «Quest’orchestra crea un rapporto privilegiato, direi unico, con il suo direttore. È un grande stimolo sapere che un gruppo di musicisti di questo livello ha come denominatore comune il desiderio di dedicarsi con me a questo speciale progetto. Sono felice di farne parte».

The Mozart orchestra is a young but unique reality in Europe. The choice of Abbado, who founded it in 2004, to leave full freedom of expression to each musician, trusting the exceptional nature of the result, has created a harmony that all the members of Mozart narrate, an almost familiar experience and a project strongly shared by artists who grew up together. «It's a fresh, young, happy and wonderful way of making music. Huge energy, combined with great skills, with that twinkle in everyone's eyes that makes it all very special. Every time we can't wait to play together again» says concertmaster Raphael Christ.

«Mozart is unique because every musician shares the same happiness and desire to make music together, and there aren't many orchestras that can say the same» adds principal oboe Lucas Macías Navarro. Thanks to the great participation of her musicians, Mozart has always been characterized by a chamber soul, she performs in variable formations, facing a very vast repertoire, up to proposing chamber concerts in duo and trio. This is how the LAC audience got to know her, on the occasion of the now annual appointments for the LuganoMusica Season, with symphonic concerts and a chamber music festival organized by the musicians. Mozart has inaugurated the 2021 season and is expected every spring for the Easter concert.

After the death of Claudio Abbado and the experience with the great Dutch conductor Bernard Haitink, since 2019 the Orchestra has been led by Daniele Gatti, one of the most appreciated Italian conductors at an international level. In his words: «This orchestra creates a privileged relationship, I would say unique, with its conductor. It is a great stimulus to know that a group of musicians of this level have the common denominator of the desire to dedicate themselves to this special project with me. I'm happy to be part of it."
