Das Programm unter der Leitung von John Storgårds, Chefdirigent des BBC Philharmonic, ist mit Sibeliusʼ Zweiter Symphonie, Bartóks Ballettmusik Der wunderbare Mandarin und Matthias Pintschers Violinkonzert mar’eh eine musikalische Reise von der Spätromantik über die klassische Moderne zur Gegenwart. Solistin ist die Geigerin Leila Josefowicz, die mit jedem ihrer Auftritte beweist, wie mitreißend zeitgenössische Musik klingen kann.

The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie justifiably calls itself the “Orchestra of the Future” – indeed, its members are some of the top students from German-speaking music conservatories and thus the professional orchestral musicians of tomorrow. The programme under the direction of John Storgårds, principal conductor of the BBC Philharmonic, comprises Sibelius’s Second Symphony, Bartók’s Miraculous Mandarin ballet music and Matthias Pintscher’s Violin Concerto mar’eh and offers a musical journey from late Romanticism by way of a modern classic to the present day. The soloist is violinist Leila Josefowicz, who demonstrates whenever she performs it just how enthralling contemporary music can sound.
