In het prachtige decor van de Antwerpse Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal speelt het Antwerp Symphony Orchestra een programma dat die uitmuntende akoestiek alle eer aandoet. In het gezelschap van de grandioze Rubens-schilderijen geniet je van muziek geïnspireerd op de werken van andere grootmeesters: On a landscape by Turner van de Belgische componiste Jacqueline Fontyn en de Botticelli-triptiek van Ottorino Respighi. Tussen beide werken vullen de majestueuze gewelven van de kathedraal zich met de Romanza van Antwerpenaar Flor Alpaerts. Tot slot schetst het orkest een prachtig zeelandschap in Brittens Four Sea Interludes en Passacaglia. Een sfeervolle ontmoeting tussen creatieve grootmeesters in een uniek kader!

Wegens gezondheidsredenen is Martijn Dendievel genoodzaakt om zijn concert met het Antwerp Symphony Orchestra te annuleren. We wensen hem een spoedig herstel toe. Tot onze grote vreugde en dankbaarheid is de Finse dirigent Jan Söderblom bereid gevonden hem op korte termijn te vervangen.

The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra heads to Antwerp’s Cathedral of Our Lady for a programme that highlights the building’s superb acoustics. Against the backdrop of Rubens’s majestic altarpieces, you get to enjoy music inspired by the works of other master painters: On a landscape by Turner by the Belgian composer Jacqueline Fontyn and Ottorino Respighi’s Botticelli triptych. The majestic cathedral vaults will also resonate to the sound of the Romanza for violin and orchestra by Antwerp composer Flor Alpaerts. Finally, the orchestra will conjure up a seascape with Britten’s Four Sea Interludes and Passacaglia. An atmospheric encounter of creative minds in a unique setting!

Due to health reasons, Martijn Dendievel is unable to perform his concert with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. We wish him a speedy recovery. To our great joy and gratitude, the Finnish conductor Jan Söderblom has been found willing to replace him at short notice.

Martijn Dendievel a été contraint d'annuler son concert avec l'Antwerp Symphony Orchestra pour des raisons de santé. Nous lui souhaitons un prompt rétablissement. À notre grande joie et gratitude, le chef d'orchestre finlandais Jan Söderblom a accepté de le remplacer au pied levé.
