Tadeusz Strugała was the longest-serving director of Wratislavia Cantans - his term of office lasted 28 years. He enriched the festival with events combining music with other fields of art, he led Wratislavia through difficult moments in history, such as martial law and political transformation. The 50th anniversary of Wratislavia is a celebration of people like Tadeusz Strugała. The maestro also celebrates personal jubilees this year – his eightieth birthday and sixty years of conducting. The best gift for the maestro and the people who love him will be a concert conducted by Tadeusz Strugała. He will lead the NFM Symphony Orchestra, an ensemble he headed for years as director of the Wrocław Philharmonic. The orchestra is also celebrating this year - it celebrates its 70th anniversary. In 1968, Strugała, as a young conductor, took part in the orchestra's move into the first post-war seat of the Wrocław Philharmonic. The new building allowed for the development of the Philharmonic's activity - the increase in artistic and educational projects was so significant that currently Wrocław musicians and music lovers need a new concert hall of the National Forum of Music. Among the first conductors in the prestigious facility, one could not miss a figure as distinguished for the musical community of Wrocław as Strugała. As a valued musician, he was a conductor or artistic director of the best orchestras in the country: the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (then: WOSPR), the orchestras of the National Philharmonic and the Krakow Philharmonic. He received the Ferenc Liszt International Grand Prix du Disque, the Orpheus statuette, and the recordings made under his baton were nominated for the Record of the Year by the Grammophone magazine. He is known for his educational and social activities, he was a member of many associations and foundations supporting the development of musical life in the country and promoting Polish culture abroad, he worked in numerous music competition committees, he conducts teaching activities. The jubilee concert conducted by an excellent conductor will be a great attraction for lovers of symphonic music. It will also be an expression of the continuation of the tradition of Wratislavia - a festival that can confidently look into the future, because it is based on solid foundations built by people such as Maestro Strugała.
