“All people become brothers!” This saying from Schiller's Ode to Joy, which Beethoven set so impressively in his Ninth Symphony, cannot be repeated often enough. In the last year of all things, which was an ordeal for mankind, the concert halls had to stand empty. Cohesion, solidarity and common sense had to be preserved in the minds without the communal concert experience, the hope for the next year was enough to console over the difficult times - marked by loneliness, existential fear and longings. 

After the traditional concert at the end of the year in Beethoven's 250th year of birth had to be canceled, it will unite the ensembles of our theater for the first time in 2021 after hopefully overcoming the corona pandemic. Another novelty is that General Music Director Ruben Gazarian will conduct the Ninth Symphony for the first time in Altenburg and Gera.
