After the huge success of October, 2018, the most beloved by the public opera of the great Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, La Bohème was staged for a single performance at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall on February 23, 2019. The Greek Opera Company, and again joined forces with the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra and the Thessaloniki Mixed Choir, after their very successful collaboration at the Athens Festival with the Peruvian opera by Theofrastos Sakellaridis, while the costumes were offered by Opera Classica Europa. The libretto was written by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacoza based on Enrique Murger's Scènes de la vie de bohème. The world premiere of the opera took place in Turin, Italy, on February 1, 1896 at the Regio Theater, which was conducted by the then 28-year-old Arturo Toscanini. The Athens Philharmonic Orchestra was conducted by Byron Fidetzis , while the direction was signed by Kassandra Dimopoulou . The Thessaloniki Mixed Choir was prepared by Mary Konstantinidou . In the role of Mimi, Cassandra Dimopoulou, in Rodolfo, the tenor Filippos Modinos , in the role of the Museum, the internationally famous soprano Jenny Drivala and in the role of Marcello, the baritoneRichard Alexander Rittelmann . In the role of Koline, the great Greek bass player Petros Magoulas , while after his numerous successful appearances in Thessaloniki, Alexandros Gavaris returned to the role of Sonar . The soloists also participated: Christos Rammopoulos (Benoit), Konstantinos Kariotis (Alcidoro) etc.
