A musical jewel with which Puccini, after 'Bohème-Tosca-Butterfly', brings his music into the new century of the twentieth century. A new “world of sound”, even if the work is there to remind all the questions still open in society: prejudices against foreigners, the death penalty, but also the malaise of the condition of migrants. The acceleration of the composer from Lucca leads to an impressionist form imbued with visionary, breaking down any convention.
