The Mirrors Extended ensemble and Florent Siaud take over the famous adaptation of Carmen by Peter Brook.
This adaptation offers a very personal dramaturgical and musical reading of the pages of Bizet and of the very notion of tragedy. It takes up some of the greatest tunes of the score and arranges them in an order that renews our apprehension of the work by intoning us. The light falls on the quartet formed by Carmen, José, Micaëla and Escamillo and their overwhelming humanity. She does not hesitate to modify the course of events or even to bring back characters present in Mérimée and discarded by Bizet's librettists. The performers are not far from the musicians, the words are sung as close as possible to the spectators, in a rediscovered intimacy.

L’ensemble Miroirs Étendus et Florent Siaud s’emparent de la célèbre adaptation de Carmen par Peter Brook.
Cette adaptation propose une lecture dramaturgique et musicale très personnelle des pages de Bizet et de la notion même de tragédie. Elle reprend certains des plus grands airs de la partition et les agence dans un ordre qui renouvelle notre appréhension de l’œuvre en nous entonnant. La lumière se porte sur le quatuor formé par Carmen, José, Micaëla et Escamillo et leur humanité bouleversante. Elle n’hésite pas à modifier le cours des événements ou même à faire ressurgir des personnages présents chez Mérimée et écartés par les librettistes de Bizet. Les interprètes ne sont pas loin des musiciens, les mots se chantent au plus près des spectateurs, dans une intimité retrouvée.
