The Voice of Oak expresses the fear man feels when he realizes the limited caracter of his own nature and the ephemere of life. Together with the Voice of Oak, the orchestra interprets, for the first time as an autonomous creation, the music Giorgos Kouroupos composed for Odyssey, John Neumeir's  ballet, presented in the Athens Concert Hall (1995), in the Hambourg State Opera (1995-96), in the Royal Theater of Copenhague (2002) and in other venues.

Ο προαιώνιος φόβος του ανθρώπου για το απρόβλεπτο μέλλον και η τελετουργία της χρησμοδότησης αποτέλεσαν πηγή έμπνευσης για τον συνθέτη Γιώργο Κουρουπό. Το έργο Φωνή Δρυός δεν στοχεύει στη ρεαλιστική απόδοση της χρησμοδότησης, αλλά κυρίως επιζητεί να εκφράσει το δέος που αισθάνεται ο άνθρωπος συνειδητοποιώντας το πεπερασμένο της φύσης του και το εφήμερο της ζωής. Μαζί με τη Φωνή Δρυός παρουσιάζεται, για πρώτη φορά ως αυτόνομο έργο, η μουσική που συνέθεσε ο Γιώργος Κουρουπός για το μπαλέτο του John Neumeir Οδύσσεια, που παρουσιάστηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών (1995), στην Κρατική Όπερα του Αμβούργου (1995-96), στο Royal Theater της Κοπεγχάγης (2002) κ.α. (συμπαραγωγή του Μεγάρου με την Κρατική Όπερα του Αμβούργου).
