Grenzgänger zwischen verschiedenen Musikgenres gibt es viele, aber kaum einer bewegt sich so unbekümmert und zugleich erfolgreich zwischen Rockfestival und Konzertsaal hin und her wie Bryce Dessner. Berühmt wurde der universelle US-Komponist an der E-Gitarre als Mitglied der Indie- Rockband »The National«. Parallel dazu entwickelte sich sein Renommee als Orchester-Komponist mit Aufträgen u. a. vom Orchestre de Paris, vom New York Philharmonic und vom London Philharmonic Orchestra. Die deutsche Erstaufführung seines neuen Klavierkonzerts präsentiert die in München bestens bekannte Alice Sara Ott. Wuchtige Rhythmen, urwüchsige Kräfte – wüsste man es nicht besser, könnte man auch in Igor Strawinskys »Le sacre du printemps « Einflüsse der Rockmusik finden. Strawinsky war seiner Zeit weit voraus, ähnlich wie Peter Tschaikowsky, dessen düsterbeklemmende Fantasia »Francesca da Rimini « auch noch Arnold Schönberg merklich beeindruckte.

The immeasurably difficult circumstances that cultural workers were exposed to during the Corona pandemic left the Starnberg composer Markus Lehmann-Horn with a roller coaster ride of emotions. Out of this emotional state came »Outrage«, an energetic orchestral work fueled by the percussion positioned around the orchestra. Driven by an unwavering will, the pianist Paul Wittgenstein overcame his tragic fate. The young pianist lost his right arm in World War I, but it pushed him back onto the concert stage. He commissioned a piano concerto for the left hand from Maurice Ravel, a highly virtuosic and at the same time emotionally captivating masterpiece. The pianist Alice Sara Ott, who is well known in Munich, faces the challenge to create the illusion of a two-handed work with only one hand. At its premiere, Stravinsky's »Le sacre du printemps« caused a historic scandal – today the music no longer shocks audiences, but its raw power and elemental effect still impress.
