TO Venice the precious and refined Season of Palazzetto Bru Zane, a study center dedicated to the French music of Romanticism, does not deny its elegant artistic line and presents Christmas concert pleasantly unusual: an invitation to discover the unexplored repertoires of Deodat de Severac, interpreted by the piano of Leonora Armellini.
True cadeau for those curious about musical rarities and unusual cultural territories, the Christmas concert of the Palazzetto Bru Zane, titled Leonora plays Déodat, will take place on Tuesday December 13, 2022 (7.30 pm): the young Paduan pianist will perform for the first time on the stage of the Venetian foundation, engaged in a fresh and unusual program centered precisely on the music of Marie-Joseph-Alexandre Déodat de Séverac (1872-1921), singular composer and today little known. Originally from Languedoc, trained at the Toulouse Conservatory and then at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, de Séverac participates in the renewal of French music, taking an interest in the popular repertoires of the South-West of his country, as evidenced by the suite In languedoc, proposed in the recital.
To offer the public a broader picture of the effervescent musical panorama of the French Belle Époque, the concert also offers pages of Claude Debussy, akin to de Séverac in inspiration, and of Isaac Albéniz, demonstrating the fruitful artistic ties existing between the two sides of the Pyrenees at the turn of the new century.
