Un choc des titans et une rencontre entre les générations: c’est la promesse de cette soirée 100% symphonique à la Philharmonie. Et nous ne parlons pas seulement de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart et Franz Schubert qui se partagent la tête d’affiche… Le maestro autrichien Leopold Hager a dirigé l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg pendant 15 ans, à l’époque où celui-ci s’appelait encore Orchestre Symphonique de Radio-Télé-Luxembourg. 43 ans plus tard et à l’âge vénérable de 87 ans, il revient pour d’émouvantes retrouvailles avec le Grand-Duché. Si les musiciens de l’orchestre et les visages du public ont changé depuis, gageons que l’émotion sera la même lorsqu’il donnera vie à deux incontournables du répertoire classique.

Und hier ist nicht nur die Rede von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart und Franz Schubert, deren Musik auf dem Programm steht… Der österreichische Dirigent Leopold Hager stand 15 Jahre an der Spitze der Lëtzebuerger Philharmoniker, in einer Zeit, in der sie noch Orchestre Symphonique de Radio-Télé-Luxembourg hießen. Nach 43 Jahren und im beachtlichen Alter von 87 Jahren kehrt er ins Großherzogtum zurück. Mögen sich die Gesichter der Musiker und des Publikums verändert haben, die Leidenschaft, mit der er das klassische Repertoire erfüllt ist die gleiche geblieben.

An encounter between giants and generations: that’s the promise of this all-symphonic evening at the Philharmonie. And we’re not just talking about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert headlining the programme… The Austrian maestro Leopold Hager directed our very own Luxembourg Philharmonic for 15 years, back when it was still called the Orchestre Symphonique de Radio-Télé-Luxembourg. 43 years later and at the venerable age of 87, he returns for a moving reunion in the Grand Duchy. The musicians in the orchestra and faces in the audience may be new, but the emotion will be the same when he conducts two favourites of the classical repertoire.
