In the Corneville Bells, composed on an old romantic theme, R. Planquette created one of the most important works in the genre of classical French operetta, in which he follows the work of the great operetta J. Offenbach and develops it in a creative way. The greatest advantage of his operetta is the clear, melodically clear and fresh music. The first performance of the Corneville Bells in 1877 at the Foliés Dramatiques in Paris was a huge success and the "Bells" played 400 times in a row. Then the operetta spread all over the world. We are presenting Corneville Bells for the second time, 100 years after the Olomouc premiere in 1920.
