New York! New York! L’Orchestre Métropolitain prendra la route des États-Unis au printemps prochain, invité à se produire au prestigieux Carnegie Hall.

Pour l’occasion, Yannick Nézet-Séguin a choisi de présenter la Symphonie nᵒ 2 de Sibelius, prochaine pièce de l’intégrale à laquelle s’attaque l’OM. Le jeune prodige canadien Tony Siqi Yun, véritable poète du piano, sera également du voyage pour interpréter le deuxième concerto de Rachmaninov. Le programme fera également une place importante à l’héritage des Premières Nations et s’ouvrira sur une œuvre de Cris Derksen, compositrice d’origine crie qui allie musique classique et électro.

New York! New York! The Orchestre Métropolitain has been invited to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in the spring of 2024.

For the occasion, Yannick Nézet-Séguin chose to perform Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2, the next instalment of the OM’s symphonic cycle. Prodigy Tony Siqi Yun, a true poet on the piano, will travel with the orchestra to perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The program will also honour the First Nations, opening with a piece by Cris Derksen, an Indigenous composer who is inspired by classical and electronic music.
