This is how after the Christmas Oratorio , the Mass in B minor and the Passion according to Saint John , William Christie wanted to tackle, in this spring of 2021, the Magnificat BWV 243. This reference work, which therefore entered the repertoire of Les Arts Florissants, was written between 1728 and 1731 for the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. By its monumentality and the sacred spirit that animates it, it will offer a new opportunity to highlight the dramatic power of the choir of Les Arts Florissants as well as the infinite expressive palette of the orchestra.
