Among her many accolades, American mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton can count being selected as the 2020 Personality of the Year at the BBC Music Magazine Awards, as well as winning the Kennedy Center's prestigious Marian Anderson Award, The Richard Tucker Award, and the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Her 2021-2022 season began with a gala concert to mark the reopening of San Francisco Opera and an acclaimed role debut as Carmen at Chicago Opera Theater. Her program will include selections by Henry Purcell, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms and Florence Price as well as songs by Jake Heggie from their widely praised 2020 Pentatone Classics album of his music.
