In a short time, the Zilliacus Quartet has positioned itself as one of the country's foremost string quartets. Cecilia Zilliacus and Kati Raitinen are previously well known through the string trio ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen, who founded the concert series Monday at Last. Ylvali Zilliacus is a member of the Uppsala Chamber Soloists. Julia-Maria Kretz-Larsson is concertmaster of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Here, the quartet is joined by Rick Stotijn, who is the solo double bass player in the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The fact that the double bass is an incredibly versatile instrument with soloist potential is certainly proven in playful and dramatic music by, among others, Jaakko Kuusisto, Carin Malmlöf-Forssling, American Edgar Meyer and the Polish composer Penderecki (1933–2020).

We encounter delightful playfulness and dazzling virtuosity in opera composer Rossini's duet for cello and double bass, while Dvorák's string quintet, composed for a competition with the motto "To my country", is filled with pathos and melodic energy.

På kort tid har Zilliacuskvartetten positionerat sig som en av landets främsta stråkkvartetter. Cecilia Zilliacus och Kati Raitinen är tidigare väl kända genom stråktrion ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen som grundade konsertserien Äntligen måndag. Ylvali Zilliacus är medlem i Uppsala Kammarsolister. Julia-Maria Kretz-Larsson är konsertmästare i Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester. 

Här får kvartetten sällskap av Rick Stotijn som är solokontrabasist i Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester. Att kontrabasen är ett oerhört mångsidigt instrument med solistisk potential får vi verkligen bevis för i lekfull och dramatisk musik av bland andra Jaakko Kuusisto, Carin Malmlöf-Forssling, amerikanske Edgar Meyer och den polske tonsättarnestorn Penderecki (1933–2020). 

Härlig lekfullhet och  bländande virtuositet möter vi i operakompositören Rossinis duett för cello och kontrabas, medan Dvoráks stråkkvintett, komponerad för en tävling med mottot ”Till mitt land” är fylld av patos och melodisk energi.
