It is a pleasure to welcome the highly talented MultiPiano Ensemble for a concert that sees no less than three grand pianos on the stage.This concert features the UK premieres of Mozart’s Larghetto & Allegro for Two Pianos & Orchestra which was completed in 2013 by Tomer Lev (one of the group’s members), a piece that is rarely performed live in concert and the delightful Mendelssohn/Moscheles Fantaisie brillante & Variations. Completing this exciting programme of works for multi-hands will be Mozart’s Concerto for Three Pianos. MultiPiano Ensemble will also perform Mozart’s Concerto for Three Pianos. Since its launch in 2011 the group has enjoyed worldwide success which includes a recording of the Mozart multi-piano concertos with the English Chamber Orchestra in 2021, a recording that achieved a remarkable sixth place in the UK classical music charts. Directed by Stephanie Gonley, the orchestra then performs Mendelssohn’s ever-popular Fourth Symphony, the ‘Italian’. Written during Mendelssohn’s tour of Europe in the early 1830s, the Symphony is inspired by the sights, sounds and colours of 19th-century Italy.
