What makes a person special, their origin or their language? Phonetics professor Henry Higgins strongly believes in the latter. When he runs into the terribly wheel-breaking flower girl Eliza Doolittle, his ambition is fueled! He bets with colleague Colonel Pickering that he can turn the sleazy street brat into a lady within six months. Eliza is fascinated by this offer and agrees to language training. And after a few initial difficulties, the experiment actually seems to succeed if love doesn't come into play... »My Fair Lady« is probably the epitome of »classic« musicals, but it is certainly one of the most-performed plays of all time. On March 15, 1956, the curtain rose for the first time at the Mark Hellinger Theater on Broadway, 2. 717 performances followed at this theater alone. For the Gärtnerplatztheater, state director Josef E. Köpplinger staged the timeless classic in a Bavarian version for the first time!
