Te Deum: Bruckner en Pärt
In dit paasconcert zingt het Groot Omroepkoor twee van de mooiste koorwerken met als thema ‘Wij loven U, O God’. Dat is de betekenis van Te Deum, de bijbelse hymne die zoveel componisten inspireerde. De Russische dirigent Vasily Petrenko leidt het Groot Omroepkoor en het Radio Filharmonisch Orkest vandaag in Bruckner en Pärt.
Bruckner en Pärt
Anton Bruckner was een uiterst toegewijd katholiek, die achter elk woord stond dat hij met Te Deum verklankte. Dit koorwerk pakte meditatief en vooral ook jubelend uit. Toen Mahler het ooit dirigeerde, noteerde hij de volgende bezetting: ‘engelentongen, Godzoekers, gekwelde harten en zielen gezuiverd in vuur!’ Het Groot Omroepkoor zingt ook Arvo Pärts Te Deum. In dit mystieke en bedachtzame werk ontvouwen zich langzaam melodieën.
