Since its premiere on December 30, 1905, "Funny Widow" has been performed on world stages more than 250,000 times. No wonder - Lehári's sensitive handwriting has matched a gripping assortment of waltzes, polkas, marches, masurkas and canvases that take us to a world of brilliant entertainment.

"Funny Widow" is a witty story about a young wealthy widow, Hanna Glawar, whose millions would be saved from Pontevedro's bankruptcy if Hanna married a Pontevedro. Hanna is surrounded by a large audience of Parisian nobles, but Hanna's heart longs for the man who has promised to never say "I love you." After glamorous intrigues, vibrant dance numbers and romantic love songs, Hanna and her lover still find a burning love.
