The Varna Opera is proud that on May 23, 1972 the first Bulgarian production of "Norma" was performed on its stage. Translation and direction by Mihail Hadjimishev, conductor Nedyalko Nedyalkov, scenography and costumes by Ani Hadjimisheva opera - soprano Maria Bohacek - Norma, her husband, Todor Kostov - Polione and bass Stefan Tsiganchev - Orovezo. The current production of "Norma" is the second in the history of the Varna Opera.

Norma is a story of love and jealousy, of love and hate, of aggression and rebellion of the enslaved, which if we look with a passionate eye, we will see that reality becomes a legend. The action of "Norma" takes place in one night. One night in which the stars tell their story, as if they sent their ambassadors to establish contact with us - the earth ... What will happen at this meeting? Will the bridge be successful in the time that Norma is trying to build? ”
