A large group of musicians from Lithuania, Latvia, Germany and Russia invites you to the closing celebration of the Vilnius festival and celebrates Latvia's presidency of the EU Council with the closing chords. On the stage of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, the "Melancholic Waltz" of the neighboring country's music patriarch Emilis Dārziņis will be played - his only surviving symphonic score, in which the intonations of national music are skillfully combined with romantic harmonies. Sergei Prokofiev's Third Concerto, which poses a real challenge to the performer, will be played by Latvian pianist Vestardas Šimkus, who won the first prize in one of the most important events in the world of piano art - the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona.

The festival is summed up by Ludwig van Beethoven's monumental Ninth Symphony - 19th century. the work that sounded extremely visionary and innovative at the beginning is one of the few works of world art that emerges like a musical peak. The symphony is being performed by an impressive team of musicians, including the musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra, even two mixed choirs - the Kaunas State and Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater choirs, Latvian, German and Russian soloists led by maestro Modesto Pitrėnas.

Gausi Lietuvos, Latvijos, Vokietijos ir Rusijos muzikantų grupė kviečia į Vilniaus festivalio uždarymo šventę ir baigiamaisiais akordais mini Latvijos pirmininkavimą ES Tarybai. Lietuvos nacionalinio operos ir baleto teatro scenoje skambės kaimyninės šalies muzikos patriarcho Emīlio Dārziņio „Melancholiškas valsas“ – vienintelė išlikusi jo simfoninė partitūra, kurioje tautinės muzikos intonacijos meistriškai jungiamos su romantinėmis harmonijomis. Tikrą iššūkį atlikėjui keliantį Sergejaus Prokofjevo Trečiąjį koncertą fortepijonui paskambins latvių pianistas Vestardas Šimkus, pelnęs I premiją viename svarbiausių renginių fortepijono meno pasaulyje – Marijos Canals tarptautiniame pianistų konkurse Barselonoje.

Festivalį apibendrina monumentali Ludwigo van Beethoveno Devintoji simfonija – XIX a. pradžioje itin vizionieriškai ir novatoriškai suskambęs veikalas – vienas iš nedaugelio pasaulinio meno kūrinių gausybėje išnyrantis tarsi muzikinė viršukalnė. Simfonijai atlikti telkiamos įspūdingos pajėgos – tai LNSO muzikantai, net du mišrūs chorai – Kauno valstybinis ir Lietuvos nacionalinio operos ir baleto teatro chorai, Latvijos, Vokietijos ir Rusijos solistai, vadovaujami maestro Modesto Pitrėno.
