Teatru Astra announces that it will open its theatre season 2013/2014 with Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Otello" on 24 and 26th October 2013, next year being the composer's 200th anniversary from his birth. The opera will be staged once again in Gozo after 10 years. The opera is expected to open what will be the 12th edition of this annual festival of culture that seeks to expose that which the island of Gozo is well-known for in the cultural field: opera, music, history, archaeology, trades and traditions. Both representations start at 19.30hrs.The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, the Teatru Astra Opera Chorus and internationally renowned singers will feature.
