Libretto by André Borbé Participatory opera from 7 years old Joliette would like to go home. Yet it is with bravery that she faces the exams that will allow her to have a new heart. In the strange room where she waits, appears Ruméo, a teenager with ardent eyes who returns, exhausted, from a mysterious expedition... Joliette then discovers that there exists, elsewhere, a parallel universe where adventurers carry out crucial missions thanks to their superpowers. These operations are so perilous that their heroes sometimes end up here in our world with diseases. Joliette wonders: would she also be a heroine? And when she thinks of this strange boy, crossed way too quickly betweentwo doors, his heart doesn't hurt him, for once : he throbs, throbs and beats too fast. She hopes very much to see him again... Adventures in the hospital, really? Yes of course ! Because there live brave people who face the worst dangers, ready to do anything to save their skin. To see them, one would think that they are doing very badly. And yet, they lack neither strength, nor courage, nor energy. Yes, dramas and tragedies are played out there, but also moments of laughter that tear everything apart. And we invent parallel lives there, elsewhere, in the land of dreams. There, between children, families and caregivers, we support each other. This creation intends to offer “a voice” to all these heroes and heroines. The story of this opera for young audiences was born on the initiative and under the lively and sensitive pen of André Borbé, based on comments he collected in the pediatric department of a hospital in Liège. As for the wonderful music, it was commissioned from the young and talented composer Lionel Polis, already an accomplice of André Borbé for the creation of Ursule et Hirsute presented on our stage in 2021.
