Christine is a natural artist whose great career is predicted by Count Philipp de Chandon - protector and patron of the Paris Opera. At the same time, the management of the opera is taken over by a new manager, who makes decisions together with an opera diva of dubious charm - Carlotta. Christine, sent for questioning by the Count, barely gets a job as a dresser from Carlotta, but she accepts the offer with great gratitude and humility. In the privacy of the dressing room, she hums a melody with her beautiful voice, which reaches Eryk. The delighted one decides to polish this vocal diamond. Lessons are going so well that it is not long before Christine is ready to audition, but this is only possible under the new management of the opera house at a nearby bistro. Thanks to the intercession of the Count, the girl presents her abilities and immediately wins the hearts of the audience. 

The intertwining of passion and passion, the dialectic of the beauty of the soul and music, and the poignant ugliness of the body cause a series of tensions that cannot be relieved in the circumstances of this plot. The mythical curse of a monster locked in a labyrinth leads to one finale - and it is a tragic one.

Christine to samorodna artystka, której wspaniałą karierę wróży Hrabia Philipp de Chandon – protektor i mecenas Opery Paryskiej. W tym samym czasie kierownictwo opery przejmuje nowy zarządca, który decyzje podejmuje do spółki z divą operową wątpliwego wdzięku – Carlottą. Przysłana na przesłuchanie przez hrabiego Christine dostaje od Carlotty ledwo posadę garderobianej, jednak przyjmuje propozycję z ogromną wdzięcznością i pokorą. W zaciszu garderoby nuci swym pięknym głosem melodię, która dociera do Eryka. Ten zachwycony postanawia oszlifować ten wokalny diament. Lekcje idą tak dobrze, że po niedługim czasie Christine jest gotowa na przesłuchanie, jednak możliwe jest to – pod nowymi rządami w operze – jedynie w pobliskim bistro. Za wstawiennictwem Hrabiego dziewczyna prezentuje swoje możliwości i z miejsca podbija serca zgromadzonej publiki. Poruszona Carlotta daje jej natychmiastowy angaż w najnowszej produkcji, zastawiając na nią jednocześnie pułapkę... 

Splot pasji i namiętności, dialektyka piękna duszy i muzyki oraz przejmującej brzydoty cielesnej powłoki wywołują serię napięć, które w okolicznościach tej fabuły nie dają się już rozładować. Mityczna klątwa potwora zamkniętego w labiryncie wiedzie do jednego finału – i jest to finał tragiczny.
