A carousel of chords resounds in the 1st Ambras Castle Concert: 'Grounds' are based on a harmonic pattern that repeats continuously, played upon in variations by different instruments. Much like a vibrant carousel, colors and shapes intertwine, forming an intricate play of sound.

Provided certain rules are adhered to, the musicians can freely improvise based on these 'Grounds.' The harmonies become their playground. How they bring them to life is entirely up to their creativity: in ensemble or solo, slow or fast, intimate or highly virtuosic. With a lineup including recorder, psaltery, harp, lute, viola da gamba, cello, bassoon, harpsichord—there are no limits to the timbres in this extensive ensemble. Collaborative music-making couldn't be more inspiring!
