Lyubov k tryom apelsinam, Prokofiev

Lyubov k tryom apelsinam by Prokofiev, Från (2024/2024), Regisserad av Hendrik Müller, Dirigent Harish Shankar, Stadttheater, Flensburg, Tyskland

There is great excitement in the theatre: Tragedy and comedy are arguing passionately about which stage genre is the only true one. Of course, lyrical drama and slapstick also want to have their say. The fairy tale play "The Love for the Three Oranges" is supposed to bring the decision. It tells of the sad fate of a prince who never laughs and the tragic twist that he finally bursts into loud laughter - unfortunately because of the misfortune of an evil sorceress. She puts a curse on him that he will fall madly in love with three oranges. In the end, everything turns out well, because three enchanted princesses are hidden in the oranges, of whom the prince is able to save at least one with the help of many other fantastic characters. With a crazy, oscillating play about fairy tales and masks, kings and cooks, princesses and rats, with a large portion of love and an even larger portion of laughter, everything that good theater has to offer is brought to the fore - happy ending included, of course. Carlo Gozzi's almost surrealist text inspired Prokofiev to create a magnificent fusion of fairy tales, magic, ironic comedy and wicked satire, a keen interplay between commedia dell'arte and contemporary political commentary. Composed just over 100 years ago, Prokofiev's masterpiece, with whose production Hendrik Müller introduces himself as the new opera director, is now conquering the stages of the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater for the first time. You can get in the mood for the premiere in advance by attending the rehearsal . At the ENCOUNTER! you can experience more music by the composer and his environment in a moderated concert and gain exciting insights into the work and the performance.
