Who is the most famous fairly-tale cat? The one in the boots indeed!

Always charming, always ready to defeat a giant or rescue a princess, and he doesn’t mind the fact that he lives in Žižkov in Prague. The only thing is, he’s not much one for chasing mice and prefers to learn French. The mice are delighted, but the landlady isn’t and she throws the cat out. And so he sets out on a journey of adventure to France accompanied by some children, as this opera fairy-tale was written especially with them in mind by the important contemporary Czech composer, Jiří Teml, who has a wealth of experience writing music for younger audiences. In addition to writing compositions for children’s choirs, he has also written two children’s operas – The Emperor’s New Clothes and The Devil and Kate. Puss in Boots is an ideal starting point into the world of opera. The fairy-tale lasts for an hour and is performed by adult singers as well as a children’s choir, creating a unique link between the stage and the young audience. The production is designed for children aged between 4 and 9 years old.

Wer ist der berühmteste Kater der Märchenwelt? Der gestiefelte Kater!

Stets charmant und stets bereit, einen Riesen zu besiegen oder eine Prinzessin zu retten. Dabei spielt es überhaupt keine Rolle, dass er in Wirklichkeit in einem Prager Armenviertel lebt. Er möchte allerdings keine Mäuse fangen und lernt stattdessen lieber Französisch. Die Mäuse freuen sich, nicht aber die Hausfrau, die den Kater vor die Tür setzt. So begibt er sich auf eine abenteuerliche Reise nach Frankreich. Gemeinsam mit ihm machen sich auch die Kinder auf den Weg ins Abenteuer, weil dieses Opernmärchen speziell für sie gestaltet ist. Der Komponist Jiří Teml, ein bedeutender zeitgenössischer tschechischer Künstler, verfügt über viel Erfahrung mit den kleinen Zuschauern. Neben Kinderchor‑Kompositionen hat er zwei weitere Kinderopern geschrieben: Císařovy nové šaty (Des Kaisers neue Kleider) und Čert a Káča (Die Teufelskäthe). Der gestiefelte Kater ist ein idealer Einstieg in die Welt der Oper. Das einstündige Märchen wird nicht nur von erwachsenen Sängern, sondern auch von einem Kinderchor auf der Bühne aufgeführt, was eine einzigartige Verbindung zwischen der Bühne und dem Kinderpublikum herstellt.

Že kočky na jeviště nepatří? To vůbec není pravda, obzvlášť když jde o kocoura, co nosí boty a učí se francouzsky. A může vás vzít s sebou na dobrodružný výlet do světa opery!

V jednom domě na Žižkově bydlel Kocour. A taky plno myší. Kocour ale myši neměl rád a nechtělo se mu je chytat, vždyť číst knížky a učit se francouzsky je mnohem lepší zábava. Myši z toho měly radost, ale domovnici se to pranic nezamlouvalo a tak šup s milým kocourem na ulici, ať si hledá štěstí jinde. Ve stejném domě byla ševcovská díla. Jako učeň tu pracoval František, jenže ten taky raději než šití bot, snil s otevřenýma očima o světě za Žižkovem a dobrodružství v něm. Co ale s takovým učněm, a tak ho mistr taky vyhodil. Co si teď počne? „Pojď se mou, půjdeme do světa,“ ozval se mu za zády hlas. Kočka a mluví? Nakonec proč ne, ale přece nemůže jít bos, na cestách je plno nebezpečných věcí, a tak mu František dá své boty. A je tu Kocour v botách! A spolu s ním za dobrodruž­stvím vyrazí i děti, protože tato operní pohádka je určena speciálně pro ně.
