EL DEBUT D’UNA ESTRELLA

Amb una veu i un talent esplèndids en l’estela de les millors veus de tenor italianes, l’italobritànic Freddie De Tommaso, de 29 anys, va adquirir protagonisme en guanyar el Primer Premi, el Premi Plácido Domingo al Millor Tenor i el Premi Verdi al Concurs Internacional de Cant Tenor Viñas del 2018. El desembre del 2021, va tornar a destacar quan es va posar en la pell de Cavaradossi a la producció de Tosca de la Royal Opera i es va convertir així en el tenor més jove de tots els temps que ha interpretat el paper en un escenari tan emblemàtic i el primer britànic des del 1963. De Tommaso, que va haver d’interpretar el paper a última hora, quan el tenor del programa original es va sentir indisposat durant el primer dels tres actes, va donar peu a la premsa a declarar unànimement que es tractava del naixement d’una gran carrera. Artista exclusiu de Decca Classics i primer tenor que signa amb el segell des de Jonas Kaufmann, el seu àlbum de debut, Passione, va escalar fins al primer lloc de les llistes de música clàssica i fa poc ha guanyat el Premi al Millor Debutant de la BBC Music Magazine. El juny del 2022 el seu segon disc, Il Tenore, va anar directe també al primer lloc de les llistes només publicar-se, mentre que la reedició de Nessun Dorma, que apareix a l’àlbum, va assolir el milió de descàrregues. 
Amb una carrera meteòrica i amb importants debuts a grans coliseus d’arreu del món, el jove tenor arriba per primera vegada a aquest festival acompanyat per Audrey St-Giles al piano, per interpretar un recital líric d’àries i cançons expressament confeccionat per a l’ocasió i que permetrà descobrir aquesta nova estrella del panorama líric internacional.

Con una voz y un talento espléndidos en la estela de las mejores voces de tenor italianas, el italobritánico Freddie De Tommaso, de 29 años, adquirió protagonismo al ganar el Primer Premio, el Premio Plácido Domingo al Mejor Tenor y el Premio Verdi en el Concurso Internacional de Canto Tenor Viñas de 2018. En diciembre de 2021, volvió a destacar cuando se puso en la piel de Cavaradossi en la producción de Tosca de la Royal Opera y se convirtió así en el tenor más joven de todos los tiempos que ha interpretado el papel en un escenario tan emblemático y el primer británico desde 1963. De Tommaso, que tuvo que interpretar el papel a última hora, cuando el tenor del programa original se sintió indispuesto durante el primero de los tres actos, dio pie a la prensa a declarar unánimemente que se trataba del nacimiento de una gran carrera. A STAR'S DEBUT

With a splendid voice and talent that follows in the wake of the finest Italian tenors, the 29-year-old British-Italian Freddie De Tommaso became notorious upon winning the First Prize of the Plácido Domingo Award to Best Tenor and the Verdi Award of the 2018 Tenor Viñas Contest. In December 2021, he made another splash when he played Cavaradossi in the Tosca production of the Royal Opera, thus becaming one of the youngest tenors of all time to play this role on such an iconic stage and the first British one to do so since 1963. De Tommaso, who had to take on the role at the eleventh hour, when the programme's original tenor didn't feel well during the first of the three acts, led the press to unanimously declare that they had just witnessed the birth of a great career. An exclusive artist of Decca Classics and the first tenor to sign a contract with this label since Jonas Kaufmann, his debut album Passione shot up to the top of the classical music charts and he has recently won the BBC Music Magazine's Best Debut Award. In June 2022, his second album, Il Tenore, also leapt straight to the top of the charts right after its release, while the version of Nessum Dorma that appears on the album was downloaded more than a million times. 
With a meteoric career and important debuts in large arenas the world over, the young tenor will come for the first time to the Peralada festival along with Audrey St-Giles on the piano to interpret a lyrical recital of arias and songs specially put together for the occasion, giving us the chance to discover this rising star of the international singing panorama.
