Ein musikalisches Bühnenstück für Sopran und Schlagzeug über den Monolog der Molly am Ende des Romans „Ulysses“ nach James Joyce. Es handelt sich dabei um einen 80-seitigen Text ohne Punkt und Komma: die Nachtgedanken – und stark sexuellen Fantasien der Protagonistin. Sie werden teils gesprochen, teils virtuos gesanglich umgesetzt und interpretiert von der Sopranistin Sarah Maria Sun, der das Stück gewidmet ist. Die Begleitung besteht aus einem Schlagzeugpart (hauptsächlich Vibraphon) und andererseits aus einem Zuspiel einer zweiten Stimme (Sarah Maria Sun), zudem aus Hintergrundklängen synthetischer und stimmlicher Art. Das Stück ist ein Hymnus auf das Leben, bejahend wie es am Schluss heißt: „Yes, I Will, Yes!“

Sarah Maria Sun zählt zu den außergewöhnlichsten und weltweit führenden Interpretinnen der zeitgenössischen Musikszene. Ihre eindringliche schauspielerische und musikalische Interpretation beweist sie immer wieder in der Darstellung komplexer Frauenfiguren.

A musical stage piece for soprano and percussion about Molly's monologue at the end of the novel "Ulysses" based on James Joyce. It is an 80-page text without periods or commas: the protagonist's nighttime thoughts - and strongly sexual fantasies. They are partly spoken, partly virtuosically implemented and interpreted by the soprano Sarah Maria Sun, to whom the piece is dedicated. The accompaniment consists of a drum part (mainly vibraphone) and on the other hand of a second voice (Sarah Maria Sun), as well as background sounds of a synthetic and vocal nature. The piece is a hymn to life, affirmative as it says at the end: “Yes "I will, yes!"

Sarah Maria Sun is one of the most extraordinary and world-leading performers on the contemporary music scene. She demonstrates her haunting acting and musical interpretation time and again in the portrayal of complex female characters.
