A new version of Schubert's Schwanengesang, fused with a modern response composed by Errollyn Wallen for the singers Ema Nikolovska and Julien Van Mellaerts. Jonathan Ware at the piano.

Schubert's Schwanengesang is one of the composer's most famous singing cycles. Unlike both Winterreise and Die schöne Müllerin, which are performed as cycles with consistent stories, it is a series of 14 songs without a fixed order. The practitioner can easily change the order to reflect all kinds of stories. Singers Ema Nikolovska and Julien Van Mellaerts - both alumni of the Verbier Festival Academy - have ordered a companion to the bike from British composer Errollyn Wallen. Wallen's reflection and response to these Schubert songs (in English) will be interspersed throughout this modern program.

Born in Belize, Errollyn Wallen left her training at the Dance Theater of Harlem, New York, to study composites at the universities of London and Cambridge. She founded her own Ensemble X, with the motto "Vi bryter inte ner barriärer i musik ... vi ser inga" (We do not overcome the barriers in music ... we do not see) reflect its authentic approach and free and its musical eclecticism. She has received commands from the BBC's exceptional musical institutions at the Royal Opera House, and has performed her songs throughout the world.

Schuberts Schwanengesang är en av kompositörens mest kända sångcykler. Till skillnad från både Winterreise och Die schöne Müllerin, som är uppträdda som cykler med genomgående berättelser, är det en serie på 14 låtar utan fast spelordning. Utövaren kan enkelt ändra ordningen för att spegla alla slags berättelser. Sångarna Ema Nikolovska och Julien Van Mellaerts – båda alumner från Verbier Festival Academy – har beställt ett följeslag till cykeln av den brittiska kompositören Errollyn Wallen.
