The largest tropical forest in the world, spanning nine countries (in particular Brazil), the Amazon forest is one of the most beautiful and precious natural jewels on Earth, today unfortunately in the process of advanced destruction... Its greatness and strength are intensely felt in  A Floresta do Amazonas , an essential work by Heitor Villa-Lobos composed in 1958. Alongside soprano Camila Titinger, the Orchestra performs this majestic piece of magical beauty, to which a projection of photographs by Sebastiao Salgado provides an ideal visual counterpoint. The evening program is completed by the score of Philip Glass.

Plus grande forêt tropicale du monde, s’étendant sur neuf pays (en particulier le Brésil), la forêt d’Amazonie est l’un des plus beaux et précieux joyaux naturels de la Terre, aujourd’hui hélas en voie de destruction avancée… Sa grandeur et sa force se ressentent intensément dans A Floresta do Amazonas, œuvre essentielle d’Heitor Villa-Lobos composée en 1958. Aux côtés de la soprano Camila Titinger, l’Orchestre interprète cette pièce majestueuse d’une beauté magique, à laquelle une projection de photographies de Sebastiao Salgado apporte un contrepoint visuel idéal. Le programme de la soirée est complété par la partition de Philip Glass.
