Siam Sinfonietta’s intimate concert series at the Banyan Tree Grand Ballroom is in its fourth season and the concert on April 19th is a gem. It features music will be played the following weekend in the orchestra’s annual tour in Phuket.

The Destiny Concert — music that evokes the passion, drama, and romance of fate — beginning with music from CARMEN, including the famously sultry Habanera sung by Thai opera singer Kridhima Siriwattanakamol.

Then there’s PEER GYNT, whose fate was driven by the motto “to thine own self be true” — beautiful music that includes the wickedly scary “In the Hall of the Mountain Kings.”

The concert climaxes in one of all-time favorite symphonies, Beethoven’s Seventh — featured in so many films, from “The King’s Speech” to “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

Conductors for the evening are Somtow Sucharitkul and Trisdee na Patalung.

Cocktails and refreshments start around 18:30 pm and Banyan Tree as always provides award-winning fare to accompany the concert! Enjoy your classical sounds in an intimate setting as the nobility old did!
