Silent Zone  is a groundbreaking family drama that has received much attention and praise for its careful way of portraying the most difficult. The music speaks when the words are not enough and it becomes both striking and fine-tuned. The victims are taken very seriously in an opera that breaks the silence around taboo subjects. 

Only 150 people at a time can see the opera, which is played in a different concept. The scenography consists of an apartment built in the middle of the stage. The audience is also on stage and can move freely around the venue and see the drama from different directions. (The audience will not be involved.) 

It's a touching stage experience. As an audience, you get close to the family's broken relationships - the affected children, the mother who does not want to know what's going on and the father who is waging a losing battle against his inner demons. 

Silent Zone premiered at the Copenhagen Opera Festival 2017 and received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The following year, it won the prestigious Danish Reumert Prize for best direction and was also nominated for best opera and best scenography.   

The opera also won the Carl Prize for best composer for small ensemble and Danmarks Radio P2's prize for best concert experience.  

The Danish composer Louise Alenius has made a big impression with her ability to challenge her musicians, the audience and the entire art form. She began her career as a composer for classical ensembles and has written music for modern ballet and even commercials.

Silent Zone är ett banbrytande familjedrama som har fått stor uppmärksamhet och hyllats för sitt varsamma sätt att skildra det allra svåraste. Musiken talar när orden inte räcker till och det blir både drabbande och finstämt. Offren tas på största allvar i en opera som bryter tystnaden kring tabubelagda ämnen. 

Endast 150 personer per gång kan se operan, som spelas i ett annorlunda koncept. Scenografin består av en lägenhet uppbyggd mitt på scenen. Publiken befinner sig också på scenen och kan röra sig fritt runt spelplatsen och se dramat från olika håll. (Publiken blir inte involverad.) 

Det är en drabbande scenupplevelse. Som publik kommer man nära familjens trasiga relationer – de drabbade barnen, mamman som inte vill veta vad som försiggår och pappan som för en förlorande kamp mot sina inre demoner.  

Silent Zone hade urpremiär på Copenhagen Opera Festival 2017 och fick överväldigande positiva recensioner. Året därpå vann den det prestigefyllda danska Reumert-priset för bästa regi och blev även nominerad för bästa opera och bästa scenografi.   

Operan vann också Carl-priset för bästa kompositör för liten ensemble och Danmarks Radio P2:s pris för bästa konsertupplevelse.
