No Romantic composer could avoid writing songs, not even Richard Wagner and his followers. Even if the master himself only served the genre sporadically, composers in his circle made interesting contributions to the art form. Alexandra Hutton, Matthew Newlin, Dean Murphy sing, recitation by and with Tobias Roth.


Classic art song and modern poetry: the series of events in cooperation with the House of Poetry combines song recitals and poetry readings. On each of the three evenings in the foyer of the Deutsche Oper, a poet will present his or her own works that are related to the songs in the program.
