This season marks the 80th birthday of Klaas de Vries, one of the great contemporary composers of the Netherlands. Tonight, we'll present the world premiere of one of his latest works, Cada Instante. Get ready for an epic orchestral experience that will blow you away! De Vries brings his eclectic and experimental style to classical music, creating a unique sound. Tonight's programme will also feature Kurtag's profound, reflective Stele and Beethoven's expressive Piano Concerto No. 4.

With an impressive line-up of 115 musicians on stage at Amare, this is a sight you've never seen before. To celebrate the evening in style, we've invited energetic young talent to join us: the charismatic conductor Chloe Rooke and talented musicians from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. The Dutch pianist Hannes Minnaar will take on Beethoven's innovative Piano Concerto No. 4, featuring cadenzas written by Klaas de Vries. As a prelude to this spectacular evening, you'll be treated to Stele by one of the greatest composers of our time: Gyorgy Kurtag.

Dit seizoen viert een van Nederlands grote componisten, Klaas de Vries, zijn tachtigste verjaardag. Een van zijn nieuwste werken, Cada Instante, gaat vanavond in wereldpremière. Verwacht een enorm groot orkest, met enorm geluid. De Vries’ eclectische, experimentele benadering van muziek transformeert het klassieke geluid tot een geheel eigen klankwereld. Ook hoor je vanavond het diepe, reflectieve Stele van Kurtag en het expressieve Vierde pianoconcert van Beerhoven.

Maar liefst 115 musici op het podium van Amare, dat is nog nooit eerder vertoond. Daarvoor nodigen we dan ook energiek en jong talent uit om ons bij te staan (en de avond groter dan groots te vieren): de charismatische dirigent Chloe Rooke én de talenten van het Koninklijk Conservatorium. Ook kruipt vanavond de Nederlandse pianist Hannes Minnaar in de handen van Beethoven om het vernieuwende Vierde pianoconcert te spelen. De cadenza’s van dit pianoconcert zijn geschreven door Klaas de Vries. Als opmaat van deze bijzondere avond klinkt Stele, van een van de grootste componisten van deze tijd: Gyorgy Kurtag.
