Symfonia nr 9 by Mahler, od (2015/2015), Dyrygent Zubin Mehta, NFM (Narodowe Forum Muzyki), Wrocław, Polska

The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the best symphony orchestras in the world. Outstanding soloists and conductors are applying for the privilege of concerting with the band residing in Tel Aviv. The famous "Israelis" will be the first guest orchestra to play in the new concert hall of the National Forum of Music. The orchestra has been delighting audiences for 79 years. The band was founded by a Polish violinist of Jewish origin, Bronisław Huberman. It brought together a group of Jewish musicians who had taken refuge in the British Mandate of Palestine from anti-Semitism growing in Europe. The orchestra inaugurated its activity under the baton of Artur Toscanini himself. Although the circumstances of the formation of the ensemble are connected with difficult pages of history, the orchestra is a symbol of hope, tolerance and peace. In the past, it enabled the most talented artists to start a new life in exile. She has always been Israel's diplomatic messenger, paving the way for this young state to establish diplomatic relations with the whole world. Through music, the band carries a message of peace, the orchestra played m. on the disputed Israeli border, as well as in a shelter during the Gulf War. The lifelong music director of the orchestra is the sensational Zubin Mehta, who will lead "Izraelczycy" in Wrocław. The maestro himself is an example of intercultural cooperation. Born in Mumbai to a Parsi family, his father - also a conductor - was a pioneer promoting classical music in India. By the time Zubin Mehta turned 25, he had already conducted the Berlin, Vienna and Israeli Philharmonics. To date, he has given 3,000 concerts around the world with the Israeli orchestra. He is also an honorary conductor of, among others, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Bavarian State Opera and the Berlin Staatskapelle. He was the longest-serving artistic director of the New York Philharmonic. He has his own star on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame. At nine o'clock– Mahler's last completed symphony and the last Romantic symphony in general – is usually said in the context of passing. It was created at a difficult time for Mahler, just a year before his death. The composer knew that a revolution in music was coming, and he himself was one of the last representatives of the "old order". He was not closed to changes and in the Ninth Symphony he incorporated elements of contemporary musical tendencies. It was appreciated by representatives of the new school of composition, who interpreted the Ninth in a very interesting way. Alban Berg saw in it an affirmation of life and nature expressed by the composer who sensed the end. In the finale of the Symphony, reminiscent of falling asleep, one can see the desire for peace and reconciliation with fate.
