After the first installation of Nikos Navridis, the program The Artist on the Composer , a collaboration of the National Opera and the NEON Culture and Development Organization (www.neon.org.gr), returns and brings to the Stavros Niarchos Hall the great Greek director with the international recognition George Lanthimos. The program The Artist on the Composer interconnects leading contemporary artists and directors and / or producers of films in the "live" performance of orchestral music. Through works that are the fruit of new assignments, each artist converses with works by classical composers, free from the usual operatic conventions and narrative, opening up to an audience that may not have previously dealt with opera. Giorgos Lanthimos enthusiastically accepted the proposal of the Artistic Director of ELS Giorgos Koumentakis and the Director of NEON Elina Kountouris - who also co-edit the program - and created a short film entitled Vlichi , which will be screened Stavros Niarchos accompanied by ensembles. The pennyroyal filmed in February 2020 in Tinos. George Lanthimos, in addition to directing, also signs the script and production of the film. Starring Oscar-winning American actress Emma Stone and acclaimed French film actress Damian Bonnar. The sets are signed by Anna Georgiadou, the costumes by Angelos Mentis, the cinematography by Thodoris Michopoulos and the editing by George Mavropsaridis. The musical script of the film consists of works by GS Bach / Knut Nysted and Tosio Osokawa, which will be performed live in the Stavros Niarchos Hall by ensembles during the screenings of the film.
