Television presenter and celebrated silent film pianist Neil Brand joins leading accompanist Iain Burnside to present a wonderful afternoon of song and film. Composers such as Korngold, Rosza, Waxman, Eisler and Weill fled Europe to Hollywood in the 1930s. We follow their personal stories in song in films such as The Sea Hawk and Robin Hood and even in home movies, with music ranging from the lushness of Korngold to the bitter, spare Hollywood Songbook of Eisler.
