The recording of the musical THRILL ME (Thrill Me!), which we broadcast on 5/21/2020 as part of the Theater under the Mask project, was watched by author Stephen Dolginoff in New York the entire time. And not only did he gloss over the story, but he also sent us a personal greeting and impressions! Subtitles: Denis Dvořák

Greetings from Stephen Dolginoff, author of the musical THRILL ME

Vězněný muž po letech opět vypovídá o svém dávném zločinu. Jakou roli v něm vlastně sehrál a jakou sehrál jeho komplic? Kdy se touha stává posedlostí a kam až je člověk schopen zajít? Příběh o vášni, touze a překračování hranic pro dva mladé herce. Muzikál je založen na skutečné události z Chicaga roku 1924, kdy dva studenti práv z bohatých rodin zabili čtrnáctiletého chlapce. Mladíkům bylo v té době 18 a 19 let a jejich motivací byl pocit vzrušení z takového činu a snaha o dokonalý zločin. Poprvé byl muzikál uveden v New Yorku v roce 2003, úspěšné off-broadwayské nastudování následovalo v roce 2005 a od té doby byl inscenován v řadě zemí po celém světě. V České republice byl tento komorní krimi muzikál uveden pouze jednou.
 
Soubor operety/muzikálu právě touto inscenací zahajuje svoji dramaturgickou linii atraktivních komorních titulů, kterou nabízí nově otevřená studiová scéna Divadlo „12“ v rekonstruovaných prostorách Divadla Jiřího Myrona.

Years later, the imprisoned man speaks again about his long-ago crime. What role did he actually play in it and what role did his accomplice play? When does desire become obsession and how far can one go? A story of passion, desire and crossing boundaries for two young actors. The musical is based on a true event from Chicago in 1924, when two law students from wealthy families killed a fourteen-year-old boy. The young men were 18 and 19 years old at the time, and their motivation was the thrill of such an act and the pursuit of the perfect crime. The musical first opened in New York in 2003, followed by a successful off-Broadway production in 2005, and has since been staged in many countries around the world. This chamber crime musical was performed only once in the Czech Republic.
 
With this production, the operetta/musical ensemble begins its dramaturgical line of attractive chamber titles, which is offered by the newly opened studio stage of Theater "12" in the reconstructed premises of the Jiří Myron Theatre.
