It is said that, 'Tosca is an opera which must be watched with a handkerchief as your heart may be broken by its notes of sadness.' Among numerous works created by the opera master Puccini in his lifetime, Tosca is regarded as not only a masterpiece representing his pinnacle of artistic achievement, but also a 'classic repertory' of almost all opera houses in the world. It's a fictional story happened in a seemingly real and illusionary castle of Rome, where angels and demons coexist to compose a wonder interwoven with love, politics, hatred and conspiracy. Surely, the opera is filled with classic arias. Recondita armonia and E lucevan le stelle are called the touchstone for tenors while the heroine Tosca's Vissi d'arte is a tearjerker of beautiful melody.
The mysterious Castle of Sant'Angelo emerged on the stage like a dream is a place where the heroine Tosca died for love. Since the debut, the opera has become a great sensation and led to an unprecedented 'Tosca phenomenon': The microblog by opera fans were rapidly spread on the night of rehearsal.
