Ian Bostridge  is known as one of the best interpreters of Schubert's chamber vocal music, this encyclopedia of the subtlest emotional experiences. He wrote a book about the composer, Schubert's Winter Journey: Anatomy of an Obsession. In the book, the British tenor talks about his own wanderings along the Winter Path.


One of the leaders of modern vocal performance, Ian Bostridge, began his professional career only at the age of 29. Before that, he studied history and philosophy at St John's College (Oxford) and wrote a dissertation on witchcraft!

Ian Bostridge has repeatedly visited Russia: at the Vladimir Spivakov Invites... festival in 2007, at the XXX International Festival Svyatoslav Richter's December Evenings, at the XV International Winter Arts Square Festival in St. Petersburg. Bostridge performed twice in the Zaryadye Hall: in the first and second concert seasons.
