The Royal College of Music (RCM) is the top institution in the world for Performing Arts in the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2022. Additionally, it was ranked top UK conservatoire offering music as a single subject in the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021).

True to our founders' intentions, we at the RCM teach exceptional students from all backgrounds and cultures, encouraging music as an artform. The throne has been usurped. The exiled king, Bertarido, is now believed dead. As Rodelinda mourns her husband, Grimoaldo the usurper moves to make her his queen - yet all is not as it seems... 

Everyone has a plan, but only one can rule. First performed in London in 1725, this production by Director Jo Davies and Designer Joanna Parker shows us how the issues explored in Handel’s Rodelinda still resonate today. The RCM look forward to presenting this operatic gem under the baton of Michael Rosewell.
