Since 2017, Frutillar has been recognized by Unesco as a Creative City of Music, thanks to the collaborative work between the Illustrious Municipality of Frutillar, the Teatro del Lago Foundation, the Frutillar Musical Weeks Cultural Corporation and the Frutillar Sustainable Development Foundation (PLADES). . 

This membership made it the first Chilean city to join a select group of thirty cities in the world that stand out for their close ties to the arts and culture.

Being part of this network has allowed Frutillar to continue to position itself culturally at an international level and develop actions that deepen the impact of the creative industries.

Teatro del Lago Foundation is committed to decentralization and public-private work in generating progress and development. That is why it is an active part, together with its strategic partner, Fundación Mustakis , of PLADES (Fundación para el Desarrollo Sustentable de Frutillar), a public-private organization that works associatively with the municipality and the community in the design and implementation of a sustainable development plan. For the city. 

PLADES seeks to ensure the organic and integrated growth of the city, both from a social, urban and environmental perspective. For this, it has a vision developed in a participatory way, which is expressed in a master plan and a portfolio of projects planned until 2030.

On a day-to-day basis, the Foundation team generates initiatives that aim to interpret and materialize its vision, always in tune with the municipal, regional and national agenda.
