Biography
Praised for his “beautiful and lyrical sound” as well as his “mature interpretation and fine control” (Place de l’Opéra), tenor Gabe Clarke was last seen as Tamino in the Dutch National Opera Academy’s production of Die Zauberflöte conducted by Patrick Lange and directed by Gabriele Rech. In the 2022/2023 season, Mr. Clarke joins the ensemble of the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater as a member of the Opernstudio, performing as James in Giuseppe Gazzaniga’s rarity, l’Isola d’Alcina, Beppe in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Lord Stephen Spettigue in Fischer’s Charlie’s Tante, and Valzacchi and Ein Sänger (cover) in Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier.
