Tenor Maximilian Mayer was born in Regensburg, Germany. He completed his vocal studies under Peter Edelmann cum laude at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Since 2023, he has been working as a freelance tenor and made his Wagner debut as Froh at the Staatstheater Kassel in April 2023. In the 24/25 season, he is set to debut as Cervantes in Johann Strauss's operetta "Das Spitzentuch der Königin" at the Theater an der Wien. During the 23/24 season, Maximilian performed as Camille de Rosillon in "The Merry Widow" at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. He reprised the role in December at the Oper Köln and is scheduled to perform it again in May 2024 at the Vereinigten Bühnen Bozen. From 2016 till 2023 he was a soloist in the company of the Staatsthea
